Wanting Qu â also known as Wanting â is a Chinese-born singer/songwriter who began releasing her signature mix of Mandopop ballads and melodic pop/rock songs after moving to Canada. Born in Harbin, China, on October 10, 1984, she relocated to Canada at 16 years old to study international business. In 2009, she became the first Chinese solo artist to sign a record deal with Nettwerk, the same label that had previously launched the careers of Sarah McLachlan and Dido. Wanting's debut album, Everything in the World, was released worldwide in 2012, earning platinum certification in China within its first week of availability and eventually receiving four Chinese Music Awards. Say The Words followed in 2013, with LLL appearing in 2017.
