Biography
German electronic DJ Wankelmut was born Jacob DilÃner on July 17, 1987. While studying at University he began taking DJ gigs, and his musical career began to take off when he uploaded âOne Day/Reckoning Song (Wanklemut RMX)â to his social media in 2011 and the recording took a life of its own. The label who owned the rights to the original song, recorded by Asaf Avidan & The Mojos, released the remix officially in 2012, and it went to number 1 in numerous European countries. His follow-up single, 2013âs âMy Head Is a Jungleâ, a remix of the Emma Louise track âJungleâ also performed well across the continent. He teamed with Get Physical Music to release a series of remix compilations, three of which were released through the end of the decade. In addition he released singles of remixes from artists such as John Lamonica (âWasted So Much Timeâ), Charlotte OC (âAlmost Mineâ), and collaborated with Alexander Tidebrink for the 2018 track âWork of Artâ. He started his own label, WKLMT, with the 2020 single âAyahuascaâ.
