Biography
Dominic Matheson (born in 1992 in Manila, Philippines), known as Dom Dolla, is an Australian house music producer. Raised in outback Northern Australia, and inspired by English electronic duo Basement Jaxx, he moved to Melbourne after finishing school to cultivate his passion for music production. Debuting with single âThe Boxerâ in 2013, followed by âLove Like Thisâ in 2015, it was his collaboration with Sydney producer Go Freek, that gained him commercial success, with third single âDefineâ peaking at number 2 on the ARIA Club End of Year Chart and featuring in the 2015 Hollywood film We Are Your Friends. His follow-up tracks âYouâ (2016), âBe Randyâ (with Torren Foot) (2017) and âTake Itâ (2018) reached the coveted number 1 position on the ARIA Club Chart, earning him two nominations for Best Dance Recording at the 2017 and 2018 ARIA awards respectively, finally taking home the award for his 2019 Platinum-certified hit âSan Frandiscoâ which together with tech house smash âMoving Blindâ (with Sonny Fodera) entered the Top 40 Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs chart in the United States. After touring extensively throughout North America, United Kingdom and Europe, Dom Dolla released âMiracle Makerâ (featuring Clementine Douglas) in July 2022, reaching number 2 on the ARIA Top 50 Club Tracks chart.
