Waking Ashland was an American rock band from San Diego, California, formed in November 2003 by singer/keyboardist Jonathan Jones, guitarist Ryan Lallier, Clayton Boek, and drummer Thomas Lee. Their debut EP, I Am for You, was self-released in early 2004 and sold over 10,000 copies through word-of-mouth promotion. This success led to a booking agent and the band's decision to pursue music full-time. In 2005, Waking Ashland released their first full-length album, Composure, under Tooth & Nail Records, which debuted at number 19 on Nielsen SoundScanâs Alternative New Artist chart. The band supported various artists on tour. In September 2005, bassist Andrew Grosse and drummer Thomas Lee left due to internal conflicts. Waking Ashland signed with Immortal Records in May 2006 and released their second album, The Well, in April 2007. The band disbanded on July 9, 2007, citing irreconcilable differences.
