Biography
Volksmetal, a rock music group from Konstanz am Bodensee, Germany, was founded in 2010 by musician and singer Marco Gregor. The band initially consisted of long-time friends Marco Gregor and Patrick Bayernhammer, who wrote the first songs together. Their breakthrough performance took place at the Konstanzer Kulturladen Bandwettbewerb Open See in 2011. For this specific performance, they recruited Martin Ibele on bass, Manuel Sutter on tuba, Matthias Beiter on quetsche, and Christian Häberlein on drums. The band's unique blend of folk music melodies with heavy metal caught the attention of AFM Records / Premium Records, resulting in a record deal in 2011. Their debut album Volksmetal was released in 2012 via Premium Records and distributed by Soulfood Music.
