Biography

Vocal Sampling, a sextet vocal group from Cuba, formed in the late 1980s. The group is known for their primarily a cappella performances, blending traditional Cuban repertoire with original compositions. Their debut album, Una Forma Más, was released in 1995 under Paroli-BMG Musique de Cologne and Sire/Warner Brothers. Vocal Sampling gained significant recognition with the release of Cambio de Tiempo in 2000, which earned nominations for three categories at the Latin Grammy Awards in 2002. Their album Akapelleando, released in 2006, won the Cubadisco Grand Prize in 2007 and featured notable covers such as "Hotel California" by The Eagles and "Banana Boat" by Harry Belafonte. Vocal Sampling continued to release albums including Así de Sampling in 2017.
