Paul Abler, born on April 3, 1957, in Saginaw, Michigan, was an American jazz guitarist and film composer. Growing up in Pontiac, Michigan, Abler's early exposure to jazz came through his grandfather. Inspired by Jimi Hendrix, Abler began playing the guitar and moved to Los Angeles in 1982 to study at the Musicians Institute. In Detroit, Abler collaborated with notable musicians. By 2003, he had settled in New York City, where he worked with artists like Cindy Blackman and Yusef Lateef. He released his album under his own name, In The Marketplace (2005). Abler's compositions were used in various films and television series, including "Madam Secretary" and "Breaking Bad". He released several albums, including Fearless (2006) with Cindy Blackman.
