Vitor Hugo Alves Ramil, known as Vitor Ramil, was born on April 7, 1962, in Pelotas, Brazil, and is a singer and musician whose compositions are heavily influenced by Brazilian gaúcha music and the milonga. His career began with the release of his debut album Estrela, estrela in 1981. Throughout his career, Ramil has collaborated with numerous notable artists including Caetano Veloso, Milton Nascimento, and Fito Páez. He released several albums, such as A paixão de V segundo ele próprio (1984), Tango (1987), and à beça (1995). Ramil has been recognized with multiple Premios Acorianos, the most prestigious cultural awards in Rio Grande do Sul, notably winning four awards each in 2007 and 2013. His album Campos Neutrais, released in 2017, was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in the category of Best Brazilian Popular Music Album.
