Vikter Duplaix is an American singer-songwriter, producer and DJ from Philadelphia. Born in 1969, he was raised in Philadelphia and Augusta, Georgia, where he began his musical career singing in church choirs. He later worked as a studio programmer for drum tracks in Philadelphia. Duplaix achieved recognition for his collaborations with artists including Erykah Badu, Jazzanova, King Britt and Jamiroquai. In 2002, he contributed to the DJ-Kicks mix series and released his debut solo studio album, International Affairs. This was followed by the album Bold and Beautiful in 2006. The single âMake A Babyâ from that record was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance in 2008. In 2009, Duplaix issued the single âElectric Loveâ. He also curated the 2012 career-spanning mixtape The Retrospection for the singer Bilal.
