Biography
Venger is an international heavy metal supergroup formed in 2024, bringing together musicians from the UK, Austria and Norway in a modern metal project with classical overtones. The band was founded by English guitarist Doug Scarratt (known for his work with Saxon) and multi-instrumentalist James Fogarty (of Old Forest and ex-In the Woods), who share songwriting and production duties. The band is rounded out by vocals from Franz Bauer (also a member of Austrian metal band Roadwolf) and drums from Sven Rothe (of Nattehimmel). Venger made their debut with the single "Impaler of Souls" in late 2025, showcasing a blend of classic heavy metal, symphonic drama and powerful vocals. On January 9, 2026, they released their debut album Times of Legend via Silver Lining Music, featuring the singles "From Worlds Unknown" and "Navigate the Labyrinth".
