Various Production is an English dubstep, grime, trip hop, folk, glitch, and techno duo from London, formed in 2002. They consisted of Adam Phillips and Ian Carter. They blended samples, acoustic and electronic instrumentation, and singing from a revolving cast of vocalists. Their initial breakthrough came with single releases featuring vocalists Rachel Thomas Davies and Nicola Kearey. They released their debut full-length album The World Is Gone (2006) on XL Recordings. They released a series of EPs and singles, including "Cogmac / Queen Bee" (2003), "Hater / Biker Walk" (2005), and "Foller / Home" (2005). They also released remixes for artists such as Thom Yorke and Adele. In 2009, they collaborated with poet Gerry Mitchell on the experimental album The Invisible Lodger (2009), released on Fire Records. They started their own record label, Various Records, in 2002. Carter left the duo to form the folk group Stick in the Wheel with Kearey and Davies.
