Biography
Unto Others was founded in Portland, Oregon, in 2020 after the band had to change their original name, Idle Hands, due to trademark issues. Founded by Gabriel Franco (vocals, guitar), the band plays a unique blend of gothic rock and heavy metal with post-punk influences. Other members include Brandon Hill (bass), Sebastian Silva (guitar) and Colin Vranizan (drums). The band is known for their dark and melancholic aesthetic, which they combine with powerful metal riffs and catchy melodies. Their debut album Mana (2019) immediately attracted attention and earned Unto Others a loyal fan base. in 2021, the band released their second album Strength, which entered the charts at number 77 in Germany and number 99 in Switzerland. Their third album Never, Neverland is released in 2024 and reaches number 51 in the German charts. Unto Others regularly tours Europe and the USA, often together with bands such as Arch Enemy and Behemoth. Gabriel Franco's lyrics are a mixture of personal experiences and dark themes such as death, love and depression.
