Forever Still, a Danish alternative metal band, was formed in Copenhagen in 2013 by Maja Shining and Mikkel Haastrup. They released their debut EP Breaking Free in 2013, followed by second EP Scars in 2014 and their first full-length album Tied Down in 2016, recorded with producer Flemming Rasmussen. After touring the United Kingdom and Italy, Forever Still signed a worldwide contract with Nuclear Blast in August 2016. Their debut album was re-released by their new label and nominated for a Metal Hammer Award for "best debut album." The band has since played multiple festivals across Europe. Their second album Breathe in Colours was released in 2019 via Nuclear Blast. Forever Still released their third album, The Line, in 2023, which explores a more minimalist sound inspired by bands like Joy, Division, Nine Inch Nails, and The Cure.
