United State of Electronica, also known as U.S.E., is an American music group formed in 2002 based in Seattle, Washington. The band includes Jason Holstrom, Jon E. Rock, Peter Sali, Noah Star Weaver, Derek Chan, Carly Nicklaus, and Amanda Khanjian. U.S.E. originated from a side project by the members of Wonderful, who initially posed as an imaginary electronica band at a Seattle nightclub. Their debut self-titled album United State Of Electronica was released in 2004 with handpainted covers and distributed for free online via Mannheimworldwide.com. The album gained national distribution through Sonic Boom Recordings in early 2005 and was later released in Japan by Side-Out Records. U.S.E.'s breakthrough came with the single "IT IS ON!", which reached number 4 on the Japanese music charts, leading to extensive tours including performances at the Fuji Rock Festival and Sasquatch! Music Festival in 2005.
