Biography

Uncle Slam was an American crossover thrash band formed in Los Angeles, California. The group originated as The Brood in 1984 with Jon Nelson and Todd Moyer on guitar and vocals, John Flitcraft on bass, and Amery Smith on drums. After releasing a self-titled album in 1986 under Profile Records, the band changed its name to Uncle Slam in 1987 following Flitcraft's departure. The group released their debut album, Say Uncle, in 1988 on Caroline Records. In 1993, they released Will Work for Food through Restless Records and followed it up with When God Dies in 1995 via Medusa Records. Uncle Slam disbanded later that year.
