Tyler Ballgame, the stage name of American singer-songwriter Tyler Perry, grew up in Rhode Island and sang in musical-theatre circles before moving to Los Angeles. After years of uncertainty and depression, he rebuilt his career through open mics; a viral performance clip drew producer Jonathan Radoâs attention and led to studio sessions. In 2024â25 he released the singles âHelp Me Out,â âRadio,â âSarah,â âHold,â âGot a New Car,â and âI Believe in Love,â then signed to Rough Trade Records. His debut album For the First Time, Again arrived in 2026, blending vintage folk-rock crooning with modern indie polish.
