Biography

Tyler Ballgame, the stage name of American singer-songwriter Tyler Perry, grew up in Rhode Island and sang in musical-theatre circles before moving to Los Angeles. After years of uncertainty and depression, he rebuilt his career through open mics; a viral performance clip drew producer Jonathan Rado’s attention and led to studio sessions. In 2024–25 he released the singles “Help Me Out,” “Radio,” “Sarah,” “Hold,” “Got a New Car,” and “I Believe in Love,” then signed to Rough Trade Records. His debut album For the First Time, Again arrived in 2026, blending vintage folk-rock crooning with modern indie polish.
