Biography
The Turetsky Choir, a Russian men's a cappella ensemble, was founded in 1989 under the direction of Mikhail Turetsky. They debuted in 1990 at the Moscow Choral Synagogue and performed internationally from 1991-1992 in cities including Washington D.C., New York, Spain, England, Israel, and Poland. The choir received the Golden Crown of the Cantors of the World Award in 1993 and split into two groups in 1995, with one based in Moscow and the other in Miami. They collaborated with Julio Iglesias in 1997 and toured extensively with Iosif Kobzon from 2000 to 2001. Mikhail Turetsky was honored as Honored Artist of the Russian Federation in 2002. The choir released notable albums such as High Holidays (1999), Bravissimo (2001), and Songs of Victory (2017). They received the Russian Music Award Record 2007 for their classical album in 2007.
