Biography

Aaron Dilloway, born in 1976 in Brighton, Michigan, is an American experimental musician and composer. As a teenager, he began attending house shows in nearby Ann Arbor and formed the group Galen in the 1990s. He later joined Couch, whom Galen had opened for, and moved to Ann Arbor, where he worked with experimental and noise groups including Universal Indians, eventually co-founding Wolf Eyes, with whom he performed until 2004. In late 2004, he moved to Nepal, recording his own material, field recordings, and Nepalese radio broadcasts. Dilloway returned to the United States in 2007, settling in Oberlin, Ohio, where he runs Hanson Records and Mailorder. His releases include Modern Jester (2012) and The Gag File (2017). Throughout his career, Dilloway has collaborated with artists including Emeralds and is known for his use of 8-Track tape loops combined with voice, tape delays, and organic and electronic sound sources.
