Biography

Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi is a Japanese pop singer and actor from Kagoshima. He was born on September 7, 1956, in Hioki, Kagoshima, and first garnered attention with an appearance on the television talent show Yamaha Music Song Contest in 1976. His debut album, Kaze Wa Minami Kara, came out in 1979, and he released many more albums during the subsequent decades. License (1987), Showa (1980), Jeep (1990), Japan (1991), and Captain of the Ship (1993), Fuzaken-ja-ne (1997), Samurai (1998), and Keep On Fighting (2003) all topped Japan's Oricon Albums Chart. Other releases like Stay Alive (2012), Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi All Time Best 2014 (2014), and Black Train (2017) fared well, too, with Nagabuchi reaching the Top 10 with more than 20 consecutive albums. Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi All Time Best 2014 even returned to the Japanese charts in 2023, reaching number 88 nearly a decade after its original release. One year later, Nagabuchi returned to the Top 10 with BLOOD, his first album of new material in seven years. The album debuted at number 4 in Japan, proving his staying power as a commercial force.
