Trio Ternura, a Brazilian yéyé band from Rio de Janeiro, was formed in 1966 by Jurema Lourenço da Silva, Robson Lourenço da Silva and Jussara Lourenço da Silva. The group's initial releases included singles "A Raposa" (1966), "Nem Um Talvez" (1968), and "Não Brinque Com o Amor" (1969). Their debut album, Trio Ternura, was released in 1968 under Musidisc. Throughout their career, Trio Ternura explored música popular brasileira and various genres such as soul pop, easy listening, psychedelic soul, and funk, releasing notable tracks like "A Gira" (1973) under Polydor and "Filhos de Zambi" (1974) under RCA. A sophomore album, also titled Trio Ternura, saw the light in 1971 under CBS and was reissued by Sony Music under the name Série Samba Soul. The band's last known release was the single "Sansão E Dalila" / "Promessas" in 1979. In 2012, their song "A Gira" gained international recognition when it was reissued by DJ Mendel from Amsterdam. Despite disbanding in the late 1970s, Trio Ternura's music continued to be celebrated posthumously with reissues by labels such as Mr Bongo in 2016 and 2018. Robson Silva died on December 25, 2011 at 60.
