Biography
Toronto Chamber Orchestra, founded by violinist and conductor Kevin Mallon, was formerly known as the Toronto Camerata. The orchestra is known for its use of period instruments and performances spanning from 18th-century music to contemporary works. Over the years, they have recorded extensively with the Naxos label, including symphonies by composers such as Wenzel Pichl, Leopold Mozart, and Joseph Haydn. Notable collaborations include recordings with bassoonist Nadina Mackie Jackson and trumpeter Guy Few, resulting in two CD releases. The orchestra has also performed under guest conductors Alan Trudel and Nicholas McGegan. Principal members of the Toronto Chamber Orchestra have also contributed to other notable ensembles such as the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Tafelmusik.
