The Tonosama Kings (nicknamed Tonokin) were a four-member Japanese singing group that transformed from a comic band into a full-fledged singing group and set a milestone in the Showa-era music scene. The group consisted of leader Atsushi Osada ( born September 1, 1940, Hyogo Prefecture), Osamu Miyaji (born August 30, 1946, Ibaraki Prefecture), Masaru Oda (born February 14, 1946, Hiroshima Prefecture), and Sobei Tada (born November 25, 1941, Osaka Prefecture). It was an explosive hit, selling nearly 3 million copies, and made them national stars. On May 25, 1974, he released his next single , "Married Couple Mirror," which was also a million-seller. This song also became a million-seller, becoming the first song in the history of Japanese music at that time to sell a million copies in consecutive years. Until their breakup in 1990, the group continued to dominate the popularity of the Japanese pop culture, including three consecutive appearances in the Kohaku Uta Gassen (Red and White Singers' Contest).
