Saori Hareyama (born October 10, 1972 in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture) is a Japanese enka and uta singer who was active from the late 1980s to the 1990s. The song became a big hit when it was broadcast on NHK's "Minna no Uta" (Everyone's Song). With her friendly lyrics and emotionally rich singing, she gained support from a wide range of generations, and followed it up with "Koi Maegami Ressha" (1990) and "Minato Koishigure" (1991). In 1989, she won the Rookie of the Year Award at the 22nd Japan Cable Broadcasting Awards, and was highly acclaimed as a new enka singer that year.
