Biography

Antoni Xuclà Galindo, known professionally as Toni Xuclà, was born on February 16, 1955, in El Masnou, Barcelona, Spain. He is a Catalan musician, guitarist, composer, and producer who combines Mediterranean music with new trends. As an autodidact, he began composing for amateur theater companies at the age of fifteen. Xuclà's professional career started with collaborations including Carles Benavent, Joan Albert Amargós, Toti Soler, and Ovidi Montllor. In 1996, his EP Les arrecades de cirera was produced by the Dutch label Nazca Music and released in Spain by Música Global, marking his international recognition. Xuclà directed Spain's entry "Sin rencor" at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1997. He formed the trio Menaix a Truà with Cris Juanico and Juanjo Muñoz in 2000, releasing a live album that year. Notable works include the albums Una terra sense mapa (2014) and El viatge de les mans (2020).
