Biography
Tommy Z, born in Hamburg, New York, is an American electric blues guitarist, singer, songwriter, record producer, and audio engineer. He released his debut album Universal Love in 2005 on South Blossom Records. His second release, Sometimes, in 2013 gained significant attention and was submitted for a Grammy Award under the Best Blues Album category. In 2016, his album Blizzard of Blues debuted at number 8 in the Billboard Top Blues Albums Chart. Tommy Z has been honored with numerous awards including the Muddy Waters Award for Artist of the Year in 2004 and 2024, and was inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame in 2007. He has toured extensively, including performances at the Washington Monument for FreedomWorks' Take Back America campaign in April 2010.
