Biography

Tom Albrecht (born 9 June 1980 in Haan, Germany) is a German singer and songwriter who began piano lessons at six. In 1994 he co‑founded the hip‑hop group Wise Economicxs with Dior da Silva, and the duo’s debut single "Wir sind eins" entered the German charts in August 2003. Shortly thereafter, Tom Albrecht released his debut solo album Sing on 17 November 2003, following a high‑profile opening act for Pur. In 2004 he received the Nachwuchs‑Förderpreis der Goldenen Stimmgabel for emerging talent. His second album, Radio Tom, followed on 25 November 2005, and he performed as the opening act for Christina Stürmer’s Schwarz‑Weiß‑Tour. Tom Albrecht contributed to the songwriting team 3typen, writing the title track "Lebe Lauter" and other songs for Stürmer’s 2006 album Lebe lauter, with the single "Scherbenmeer" released in March 2007. In 2007 his composition "Ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst" became the title song for the Endemol production Big Brother season 7. In 2016 he released the album Tage aus Licht with singer Sarah Bühler under the band name Soolo. His work has earned chart placements and industry recognition, including the 2004 Golden Voice Award.
