ThisGirl (thisGIRL), a rock band from Rotherham and Sheffield, England, formed in 1999. The group initially went by the name 'Gerl' but changed it to thisGIRL after encountering pronunciation issues. Their debut performance took place at the Wellington Boot public house in Rotherham. In 2002, they released their first EP, This Girl... Has Fangs Too, and gained significant attention for their energetic live shows, including a notable appearance on the Barfly stage at Download Festival. The group signed with Drowned in Sound and released their debut album with the label, Uno, in 2004. They toured extensively, playing venues such as Brixton Academy and Donington Park, and collaborated with acts like Biffy Clyro and Glassjaw. The band's final performance was on January 12, 2007, at the Point in Cardiff supporting Douglas. The band then split with some members pursuing their own projects.
