Biography

Alexandra Rebecca Parks, born on July 26, 1984, in Mount Hawke, Cornwall, England, is a singer-songwriter. Raised as the youngest of four siblings, Parks attended college at The Hub in St Austell and initially fronted a local band called One Trick Pony. Her career took a significant turn when her father submitted an application for the second season of the BBC Television series Fame Academy, which she won in 2003. Following her victory, Parks released her debut single "Maybe That's What It Takes", which peaked at Number 3 on the UK Singles Chart. Her first album, Introduction, was released later that year and went double platinum in the United Kingdom and gold in several other European countries. In 2005, Parks released her second album, Honesty. The lead single from this album, "Looking For Water", preceded its release. However, despite these efforts, Parks was dropped by her record label, Polydor, in February 2006. She expressed disappointment over the lack of media support and uncertainty about whether her music or personal background influenced the decision. Since then, Alexandra Rebecca Parks has been inactive in the music industry.
