Biography

The Irish band Therapy? were formed in Larne, Northern Ireland in 1989 and during their formative years performed as a four-piece until the departure of the ex-Siouxie and the Banshees keyboard player and cellist Martin McCarrick in 2004. Since McCarrick's departure the band have resolutely remained a classic three-piece rock band with Andy Cairns on guitar and vocals, Michael McKeegan on bass and Neil Cooper on drums. Although the band have never enjoyed major commercial success they have sold over two million albums in a career spanning three decades. Their most significant breakthrough came in 1993 with the release of the EP 'Shortsharpshock' which went to number nine in the UK Mainstream Charts and led to the band appearing on the popular UK television chart show 'Top of the Pops'. Since the release of their debut album 'Babyteeth' in 1991 the band have released a further 14 albums on various different labels, their most successful release being their second album 'Pleasure Death' released in 1992 which went to number one in the UK Indie Charts.
