The Wild Reeds, an American indie band based in Los Angeles, California, were formed in 2009 by multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriters Mackenzie Howe, Kinsey Lee, and Sharon Silva. The trio met as concertgoers at the Troubadour while studying at Azusa Pacific University and Citrus College. They began performing together after supporting each other at open-mic events and college parties. Their debut full-length album, Blind and Brave, was self-released on August 9, 2014. The band's lineup expanded to include bassist Nick Phakpiseth and drummer Nicholas Jones. The Wild Reeds signed with Dualtone Records for the release of The World We Built in 2017 and Cheers in 2019. Notable releases include the EP New Ways to Die (2018).
