Biography
The Tremble Kids, a Swiss Dixieland combo from Zürich, were formed in 1951. The band initially started as an amateur group but quickly gained traction, accompanying Lil Armstrong in Basel in March 1953. Founded by clarinetist Werner "Wieni" Keller, who led the band until 1961, key members included Eddy Jegge on trumpet and Erwin Meierhofer on drums. The Tremble Kids transitioned to professional status in 1955 during extended tours in Germany. Their early recordings, made in Frankfurt in May 1956, featured a lineup including Keller, Walter Leibundgut on trombone, Rolf Cizmek on bass, and Gerhard Haldimann on piano. The band's discography includes notable albums such as Dixieland Ball (1956) and The New Orlean Jazz Band Tremble Kids (1958). Throughout the 1970s and into the late 1990s, they released several albums including Midnight Session (1973) and The Other Way Around (1976), often collaborating with other jazz musicians.
