Biography

The Tolkien Ensemble, a Danish classical music group founded in 1995 by Caspar Reiff and Peter Hall, set out to create the world's first complete musical interpretation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. The ensemble debuted with a concert at Gjorslev Castle in January 1996. Their first album, An Evening in Rivendell, was released in 1997 and received critical acclaim. The group gained significant attention with the release of At Dawn in Rivendell in 2002, which featured Christopher Lee as a narrator and singer. This album was widely played by radio stations and received excellent reviews. Their subsequent album, Leaving Rivendell, was released in 2005.
