The Team, an American hipâhop group formed in Oakland, California, emerged from the Bayâ¯Areaâs hyphy scene in the early 2000s. The core lineup of four emcees-Clydeâ¯Carson, Mayneâ¯Mannish, Kazâ¯Kyzah, and affiliated member Jungle-scored a breakthrough with the 2004 single "Itâsâ¯Gettinââ¯Hot", which established their local presence. In 2004 the group released the album Theâ¯Negroâ¯League, followed by the 2006 release Worldâ¯Premiere, which peaked at Numberâ¯95 on the Billboard Top R&B/HipâHop Albums and Numberâ¯50 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums, marking their first national chart entry. Subsequent releases included Hellâ¯ofâ¯Aâ¯Night (2012) and Hellâ¯ofâ¯Aâ¯Nightâ¯2 (2016). The Teamâs track "Slowâ¯Down" was featured in the 2013 video game Grandâ¯Theftâ¯Autoâ¯V, extending their reach beyond traditional music channels. Collaborations with West Coast artists such as Eâ40, Babyâ¯Bash, and Tooâ¯$hort bolstered their profile. After the groupâs activities waned in the late 2010s, members pursued solo projects-Clydeâ¯Carson released singles like "Secretâ¯Lover" and "Pourâ¯Up"-while the group itself has not disbanded, remaining an influential entity within the Bayâ¯Area hipâhop community.
