Biography

The band quickly made a name for itself with its catchy rhythms and melodic compositions inspired by the Byrds and the Beatles. In 1981, the single "A Million Miles Away", a little pop gem, landed the Plimsouls a big contract with Geffen. They split up after just two albums, at a time when their only real competitors, REM, were winning the day. Peter Case tried to pick up the torch with an unconvincing solo album.
