Biography
The Pirates was a British pub rock band from London formed in 1976. The group was a continuation of the band Johnny Kidd & the Pirates and featured Mick Green, Johnny Spence, and Frank Farley. Their debut recording was a re-recording of the song âShakin' All Overâ (1976). Recognition increased with the live album Out of Their Skulls (1977) which reached number 57 in the United Kingdom. Subsequent recordings include the singles âI'll Never Get Over Youâ (1977) and âAll In It Togetherâ (1978). The ensemble toured with The Saints and The Stranglers and appeared on the program In Concert (1977). Their discography includes the albums Skull Wars (1978) and Sailing Through France (1992). The band became inactive in 2010 following the death of Green. Farley passed away in 2018.
