The Rattles, a German rock band, were formed in Hamburg on December 1960 by Achim Reichel and Herbert Hildebrandt. The group gained early recognition after winning a competition at the Star-Club in February 1963, leading to their first engagement there. Their debut single was released later that year, followed by a six-week tour of England with notable acts such as Bo Diddley and Little Richard. In June 1966, The Rattles performed alongside The Beatles during the Bravo-Beatles-Blitztournee, which included stops in Munich, Essen, and Hamburg. Their hit singles from this period include "La La La" (1965) and "Cauliflower" (1967), collaborating with Johnny Hallyday on the album Johnny Hallyday Meets The Rattles during this time. The band's international breakthrough came in 1970 with the release of "The Witch", which reached number 8 in the UK and number 79 in the US. The Rattles continued to evolve, releasing several albums and singles throughout the 1970s, including Say Yeah! (2007) and Rattles 50 (2010). Despite various lineup changes and a hiatus from 1977 to 1988, The Rattles remained active, performing regularly with founding member Herbert Hildebrandt.
