Biography
The Owl Service, an English alternative folk music collective, was formed in 2006 by multi-instrumentalist Steven Paul Collins. Initially a solo project, the Owl Service released their debut EP Wake the Vaulted Echo in 2006. Their first album, A Garland of Song, was released in 2007. By the end of the year, they signed with Southern Records, who reissued the debut album and released the EP The Fabric of Folk. The band's subsequent album, The View From a Hill, was released in 2010. After a hiatus, Collins resumed activities under his own label Stone Tape Recordings, releasing Garland Sessions in 2012 and the EP Three Inverted Nines in 2014. Later releases include Tracing Patterns (2016) and Live Archive #1 (2024).
