Biography

"Four piece" indie rock band formed in 2018, The Lilacs hail from Wigan, Greater Manchester. Consisting of Ollie Anglesea (vocals), Sam Birchall (guitar), Matty Johnson (bass) and Dave Gomersall (drums), the quartet signed a debut single entitled "Vicarage Road" in 2019, before taking a break while the guitarist grieves after the death of his mother. Further singles follow in the year until the release of the three-track EP Red Flags & Warning Signs in 2022. Three more tracks appear in 2023, while "Where've You Been Hiding" opens 2024, the first single from the five-track EP The 395 (To Forever), released in 2025 and also featuring "Calling It a Night" and "You're Not That Daft".
