Biography

The Kry, a Christian rock and worship band from Quebec City, Quebec was formed in 1992. The group is composed of Jean-Luc La Joie on vocals, bass, and acoustic guitars; Yves La Joie on drums, percussion, and backing vocals; Nic Rodriguez on bass guitar; and Steve Marcia on electric guitar. Their debut album, I'll Find You There, was released in 1992, followed by You in 1994, which reached number 27 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart. Their subsequent releases Unplugged (1995) and What About Now (1996) also charted, peaking at numbers 40 and 30 respectively. Known for their thought-provoking lyrics, The Kry gained widespread recognition for "Cassie's Song", inspired by the Columbine shootings. In 2000, The band formed The Max Ministries focusing on evangelism, particularly in French-speaking areas. Notable achievements include winning Francophone Album of the Year with Peut Être (2007) at the Canada Covenant Awards.
