Biography

The Kenyan Boys Choir is a traditional and contemporary male voice choir based in Nairobi, Kenya, established in 2004. The group consists of 25 boys aged 13 to 24 from various Kenyan backgrounds and tribes. Their breakthrough came in 2009 when they performed at Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C. Following this performance, they were signed to Decca Records after representatives intercepted them at Heathrow Airport. Their album Spirit of Africa was released under the label in 2009. They independently released the album Liberty in 2013 and the Christmas EP Furahia in 2014. Their discography includes the singles "Homeless" (2009) and "Drummer Boy" (2010).
