The (International) Noise Conspiracy, a Swedish punk rock group formed in late 1998, was fronted by Dennis Lyxzén on vocals, with Inge Johansson on bass, Lars Strömberg on guitar, and Ludwig Dahlberg on drums; Sara Almgren contributed organ and keyboards until 2004. Their debut single "Smash It Up" appeared in 2000, followed by the EP Smash It Up the same year, establishing a politically charged sound. In 1999 the band released the album The First Conspiracy, and in 2000 they issued Survival Sickness through Burning Heart, a record noted for its Situationist influences. The 2001 album A New Morning, Changing Weather expanded the sonic palette with organ and horns, while the 2004 release Armed Love saw collaboration with producer Rick Rubin and temporary contributions from saxophonist Jonas Kullhammar and organists Billy Preston and Benmont Tench. A 2008 EP The Cross Of My Calling followed, produced again by Rubin and released on Burning Heart, American, and Vagrant Records. The band toured internationally, including a U.S. tour with My Chemical Romance, and released live recordings such as Your Choice Live Series Vol. 25 in 2002. The group disbanded in 2009, concluding a decade of politically infused punk rock.
