Idan Raichel, born on September 12, 1977, in Kfar Saba, Israel, is a singer-songwriter and musician known for fronting The Idan Raichel Project. He began playing the accordion at age nine and later studied jazz piano. After serving in the Israel Defense Forces army band, Raichel worked as a counselor at Hadassim, where he was introduced to Ethiopian folk music. His breakthrough came with the release of The Idan Raichel Project album in 2002, which featured diverse musical influences and collaborations with artists from various cultural backgrounds. The project's global fusion sound, particularly highlighted by "Bo'ee" ("Come with Me"), propelled them to chart success. Subsequent albums include Within My Walls (2008) and Quarter to Six (2013), the latter reaching quadruple-platinum status in Israel. In 2019, Raichel released the studio album And If You Will Come to Me. Notable collaborations include performances with India.Arie, Alicia Keys, and Patrick Bruel.
