Biography

Hadag Nahash, an Israeli hip hop/funk band, was formed in 1996 in Jerusalem. The group's name translates to "the snake-fish" and is also an anagram of the Hebrew phrase "Nahag Jadash," meaning "New Driver." Their debut album, Hamechona Shel Hagroove ("The Groove Machine"), was released in 2000, featuring notable tracks like "Lo Mevater" and "Af Ehad." The band gained significant traction with their second album, Lazooz (Move), released in 2003. This album included hits such as "Gabi ve Debi" and "Misparim," and sold over 30,000 copies. Hadag Nahash continued to release successful albums, including Zman Lehitorer (2013). The band is known for their socially conscious lyrics, often addressing themes of peace, tolerance, and political issues. Their music has been featured in various media, including the film "You Don't Mess with the Zohan" by Adam Sandler.
