Biography
The American Dollar are an American post-rock and ambient duo from Queens, New York, formed in 2005. The ensemble consists of John Emanuele and Richard Cupolo. They released their eponymous debut studio album, The American Dollar (2006), followed by the studio recording The Technicolour Sleep (2007). Their recording career includes the studio recordings A Memory Stream (2008), Atlas (2010), and Awake in the City (2012). The group's tracks have been featured in television programs including CSI: Miami and film trailers for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (2011) and Up in the Air (2009). In 2016, the studio recording Across the Oceans (2015) was featured as the album of the month on the radio program Echoes. The duo was involved in a copyright infringement lawsuit in 2011 regarding the unauthorized use of the track âSignaling Through the Flamesâ (2008). Their discography includes the studio recordings You're Listening (2018) and Lofi Dimensions (2020).
