The Hang-Ups, an American indie pop/rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, formed in 1990 with vocalist and guitarist Brian Tighe. The group included Jeff Kearns on bass and vocals, Stephen Ittner on drums, and John Crozier on guitar. Frontman Brian Tighe initially pursued a career in visual arts but transitioned to music while working as an artist's assistant in New York City. He returned to Minneapolis and formed the original Hang-Ups lineup with Jeff Kearns and Stephen Ittner. The band released their debut EP Comin' Through in 1993, followed by their full studio album He's After Me. They gained notable recognition for songs like "Jump Start," featured in the Kevin Smith film Chasing Amy, and "Top of Morning" which appeared in an episode of Dawson's Creek. The band was honored with a star on the outside mural of the Minneapolis nightclub First Avenue.
