Biography
The Du Droppers were an American doo-wop group formed in Harlem, New York, in 1952. The original members included Caleb "J.C." Ginyard on lead vocals, Willie Ray and Harvey Ray on tenor and baritone, and Eddie Hashaw on bass. All members had extensive experience as gospel singers before forming the Du Droppers. In September 1952, they released their debut single "Can't Do Sixty No More" on Red Robin Records. The group left Red Robin for RCA Records in 1953, where they achieved chart success with "I Wanna Know", which peaked at number 3 on the Billboard R&B charts. They followed this with another top-three hit, "I Found Out (What You Do When You Go Round There)". The Du Droppers toured extensively and disbanded in early 1956 after a series of lineup changes and internal issues.
