Biography

Ruby & the Romantics are an American R&B group from Akron, Ohio. The band was composed of Ruby Nash, George Lee, Ronald Mosely, Leroy Fann, and Ed Roberts. In 1963, the group signed to Kapp Records, where they released their debut single "Our Day Will Come", which topped both the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and the Billboard R&B chart, selling over one million copies in the US. The song also reached number 38 on the UK Singles Chart and number 11 on the Australian Charts. Their next releases included "My Summer Love" (number 16) and an original version of "Hey There Lonely Boy" (number 27). In 1964, they released their first album Till Then. The group's subsequent albums include Our Day Will Come (1963), Greatest Hits Album (1966), Ruby & the Romantics (1967), and More Than Yesterday (1968). In 2007, the band was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and were charter inductees into the inaugural class of the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio in 2013.
