Biography

The Deluxtone Rockets is an American band from Muskegon, Michigan. They began as a punk band before evolving into a swing revival and rock-influenced outfit by the time they signed to Tooth & Nail Records. Their debut self-titled album (1999) was produced by Gene Eugene and Dennis Danell of Social Distortion. Their second album, Green Room Blues (2001), marked a shift away from swing, dropping the horn section and moving toward a darker rockabilly sound. Its production was completed by Chris Colbert after Gene Eugene’s death during the album’s production period. The band experienced lineup instability during this era, including the departure of their drummer and touring difficulties, but went on to perform at festivals such as Cornerstone.
