Biography

The Mighty Blue Kings was an American jump blues band formed in 1995 in Chicago by Ross Bon. Bon had been active in the Chicago music scene since 1992 as a harmonica player and vocalist. The band made their debut performance opening for Junior Wells at Buddy Guy's Legends. The Mighty Blue Kings released two studio albums: Meet Me In Uptown (1995) and Come One, Come All (1998), the latter of which debuted in the top ten on Billboard's Blues Album chart. Subsequent releases included Live From Chicago (1998), which reached number 14 on Billboard's Blues Album charts, The Christmas Album (2000), and Alive In The City (2001). The band disbanded around 2001.
