Kreator is a thrash metal band from Germany founded in 1982. The band initially started out under the name Tyrant, based on a Judas Priest song on the album Sad Wings of Destiny. A short time later, the rockers changed their name to Tormentor before finally settling on Kreator in 1984. The music of Kreator is decisively influenced by guitarist and singer Miland "Mille" Petrozza, bassist Rob Fioretti and drummer Jürgen "Ventor" Reil. 1985 sees the release of Kreator's debut album Endless Pain. The band gained a solid fan base in metal circles. However, commercial success did not materialize until the early 2000s. The album Violent Revolution (2001) reaches number 38 in the German charts. Kreator's follow-up Enemy of God reached number 19 in Germany and entered the Austrian charts for the first time at number 45. Kreator became better known internationally with the longplayer Hordes of Chaos. The rockers reach number 16 in Germany and enter the US Billboard charts for the first time at number 165. After Phantom Antichrist (2012), Kreator achieved their first number 1 album in Germany with Gods of Violence in 2017. The album climbed to number 4 in Austria and reached number 118 in the US charts. In 2022, Kreator released another longplayer, Hate Ãber Alles. In Germany (number 2), Austria (number 6) and Switzerland (number 7), the album climbed into the top 10 of the charts. After a break of almost four years, Kreator return in early 2026 with Krushers Of The World.
